National Recovery Month

by Womens Recovery Center

September 5, 2017

Each September is recognized as National Recovery Month to increase awareness and understanding of substance use disorders and to celebrate the lives of women and families that recover. The theme is Join the Voices for Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities. To commemorate this special month, the Women’s Recovery Center is hosting our 8th annual Client Graduation on September 13th beginning at 3:30 pm. This event embraces the theme of the month in providing a platform for women and their families to share their journey from addiction to recovery. Family reunifications and the births of healthy babies, the graduation is one more opportunity to see the reclamation of the lives from addiction.

This year John Jurko, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Lorain County will be serving as the Commencement Speaker. John has an inspiring story of his career movements in law enforcement and now in the Prosecutor’s Office. Susan was selected as the 2017 Valedictorian to share her story from addiction to recovery.

The annual graduation is open to the public. If you are interested in attending and to witness the power of recovery, please contact Shereen Robinson at 216-651-1450.
