Do you have special memories of baking holiday cookies with your mother and grandmother? Baking cookies has been a family tradition for hundreds of years. The simple pleasure of baking cookies brings the family together, it is a time for laughter, fun and sharing love.

As women are rebuilding their lives and their families, they are looking for opportunities to build new and healthy traditions with their children.

Volunteers Jeff Faubert and Lee Carr are coordinating Baking Memories on December 1, 2007. Mothers and their children will be given specially designed Baking Memories Aprons and share the experience of measuring and mixing together ingredients to create tasty treats to share with their families. Baking Memories is one step in establishing traditions and one step in reunifying healthy families.

If you are planning a party or would like to support the Baking Memories project, volunteers will also be baking cookies that can be ordered in advance. In addition, the Women’s Center can provide pre-measured dry ingredients so that you can simply add the fresh ingredients and share the baking memories with your family. The jar contains a limited edition quilt square inspired by a client experience. To place your holiday cookie order, complete the order form.
